I've also been distracted. Every night, I tell myself and him that it is great if he decides to come and it is ok if it is not time yet. I have trusted in God's plan. And yet, some of it has been a bit selfishly motivated, too. With the house stuff, there have still been deliveries, errands, and appointments that have made it easier to be content with him staying put. Today was the last big outstanding thing, and was an unexpected blessing.
Today has also been fun. When people ask when you're due, it is pretty cool to get to tell them that you're due tomorrow and watch their reaction. So many other days people have said, "oh so you're getting close", or "you've got a little bit longer", or "you look ready now". I like the big-eyed, "oh!" expression the best. : )
Back to the distractions...
Tonight, we're doing the last and final things. Darren is installing the car seats, mom is rewashing the clothes (b/c of the dust from the house stuff), and I am putting together a final list of what needs to be loaded into the car when it is time.
Lastly, I am giving both me and this sweet baby boy permission...permission to come. No more distractions, no more would-be-ok-ifs. I am ready. We are ready.
I am not anxious...just fully ready, finally.
Lord, we are ready for this amazing blessing to enter this world. We pray for his safety and mine. We can't wait to see him, to kiss him, to hold him, and to bring him home. I hope it is time soon...but ultimately, Your timing is well worth continuing to wait for. <3Thank you, Lord, for another day.
