29 and holding

29 weeks! Whooo Hooo!

Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain — which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.

I can tell I've hit the last trimester. Getting more tired in the afternoon and evenings, but still doing good. You are moving crazy, hiccupping and I'm feeling different parts all the time now. Felt your bottom last night and I think a knee earlier in the day. Your hands and feet are still my favorite though, as they feel like intentional gesture for some mommy love.

29 always reminds me of Rusty Greer, who played for the Texas Rangers when I first came to Dallas. He is a nice guy and was a fan favorite.

And since your big brother absolutely loves baseball and the Rangers, Rusty you'll be this week. Reece was watching the Ranger/Oakland game on the couch Friday night, when from no where cheered, "Go Michael Young! Hit a home run, Michael Young!" Cracked me up. He truly enjoys watching the game, and looks forward to teaching you, baby boy.

Thank you, Lord, for another day.
