20 weeks today. We're half way there, and I officially am living with 2 and a half men. "Mennnn."
I still reach down, touch my belly, and get the warmest, sweetest surprise. It should have settled in by now I suppose, but I am still overwhelmed in the littlest of moments when I realize that it's ME that's pregnant. Oh how thankful I am.
You're at the halfway mark — congratulations! Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (The way your baby is measured changes now.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (although some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
Bananas are a regular and a favorite around here, and reminds me of a very yummy non-chocolate desserts...Bananas Foster. Both Darren and Reece's middle name (and a precious 1 year old I know), that's what I'll call you this week, sweet boy...Foster.
You almost always kick when I'm talking about you, and now as I'm writing this. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that.
Thank you, thank you, Lord, for another day.
