175

The three of us went to my doctor appointment today.
Reece seemed equally excited about seeing the baby as he was in getting a lollipop.

Things are different this pregnancy, that's for sure. Last time, I had appointments AND sonograms at 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 9 weeks, and 12 weeks.

So naturally, I thought we'd have one this time. When Dr H came in, he said we'd just listen today unless we couldn't hear it and then we'd sono. I really didn't find myself disappointed, only that I had prepped Reece for seeing the baby. He kept saying he wanted to see it, but he was fine.

Wop, wop, wop, wop came the sound on the doppler. It was clear and strong...strong at 175 bpm. I think that's pretty fast. At Reece's 13 week appointment, his heart beat at 166 bpm, and we thought that was on the faster side. I remember the wives tales saying fast heartbeats indicate girls. Oh how people like to guess. Feel free to.

Dr H was great today, and genuinely seems so thrilled for us. He said that everything looks so great and he feels like this baby is just meant to be here. I hope so. I pray so.

In the mean time, thank you, thank you, Lord, for another day.
